Charles Vielzeuf — Operations research & ML
I am currently a Master II student in operations research at Institut polytechnique de Paris ([MPRO]), as part of my last year at [École des Ponts], in the mathematical engineering and computer science department. More details here.
Previously I worked at [Hexaly] as an operations research intern in the R&D team (algorithm design, software development, continuous integration). I also was a trainee student in the [Deep Learning Theory Team] (UTokyo), supervised by [Prof. Taiji Suzuki]. More details here.
Research/working interests
I focus on algorithm design with guarantees and industrial problem-solving, as well as consulting and understanding business requirements in fields such as logistics, finance, and IT.
Operations research — combinatorial, stochastic and robust optimization; complexity theory, metaheuristics, parallel computing.
Machine learning — deep and reinforcement learning, and optimization-aware learning.
More on these topics on my project page.
News
As part of my master's program, I recently completed a five-month traineeship at [RIKEN Advanced Intelligence Project] in the [Statistical Genetics Team], working on transformer-style architectures and reinforcement learning.
I am looking for consulting, PhD, or R&D roles in the areas outlined on [Open to].
